Each of the seven flames in the circle of the
TRC's logo represents one of the Seven Sacred Teachings - Truth, Humility, Honesty, Wisdom, Respect, Courage and Love.
Health Canada will coordinate a network of experienced Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Workers for the duration of the event. These Health Support Workers will be available at each TRC site and will be wearing orange vests. Health Support Team Leads will be wearing orange and white vests. The following types of support are available to all participants attending the event:
Cultural Support Provider - who is a traditional healer, provides ceremonies or Elder teachings
Resolution Health Support Worker - who listens and provides emotional support
Registered Counsellor - who provides individual, family and/or group counselling.
Health Support Services are available to former students and their families prior to, during and following all components of Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement. To access services through the Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program call 1-888-301-6426.
